我在大运河的桥梁上

看到你那孤独的身影

手握木浆慢慢地划着

那浅褐色的长形木舟

在污浊的水徐徐飘动

你的木浆划出小浪花

吹皱起了一池的春水

大运河的船形形色色

长长的木船飘荡水上

运载了满船的人与货

构出了美丽的风情画

走在运河对岸的小路

观看农民在田里苦干

小茅草屋屹立在路旁

静观河边洗衣沐浴人

An Afternoon In Nyaungshwe

An afternoon in Nyaungshwe

I strolled on the bridge across the main canal

and found you on a long slim wooden boat

holding the oar rowing in solitary

That wooden boat has a tint of light brown hull

drifting gracefully on the brownish waters

your oar draws up layers of ripples

bringing delights to the drab surroundings

There are numerous boats of varied shapes

randomly spattered all over the canal

carrying loads of passengers and goods

painting a picturesque and unique local scene

On the path over the other side of the bridge

farmers are toiling in the rice fields beside

rows of thatched-roof huts stand aside

savouring the washers and bathers by the riverside

I love Nyaungshwe a lot, especially those long wooden boats which provide interesting pictures on this brownish rather dirty canal. Across the bridge, the village scene is superb. I like to see the locals doing their washing by the river bank. They are typical local scenes of this small town.

我迷上了良瑞小镇，尤其是那一艘艘的长木船，画出了美丽的缅甸风情画。对岸的村庄更是牵动人心。喜欢那在河边洗衣沐浴的画面，那是儿时遗失了的回忆。
